Alaska Somethin'... Summer Tour 2012
Howdy Everybody, Well, the road has been treating us something grand and I just wanted to say thank you, and share in our excitement. Alaska Somethin'... Did you know BrownChicken is performing a two week, six show tour in Alaska? It's official. The BrownChicken BrownCow StringBand would like to welcome Alaska to our 2012 tour schedule which can be seen at www.brownchickentrain.com/tour.htm This year has been filled to the brim with exciting events, new songs, new gear, new territory, and sprinkles from life's finest ingredients. We are truly grateful for this past year and are really looking forward to the rest of the summer. Here's why...
Less than a week ago we pulled out of West Virginia and concluded our East Coast touring for the year of 2012. After our Spring Tour that took us on a loop to New Mexico and back via Tennessee, North Carolina, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, and Arkansas, we landed in West Virginia to begin the summer schedule. We started with five amazing shows while we were in West Virginia, all of which were well attended with good energy. We even broke an attendance record in Morgantown with over 400 folks in the audience at Chestnut Ridge Memorial Park! Thanks for all the love, we appreciate you all. I also want to say thank you to Black Bear Burrito on pleasant St in Morgantown for helping awareness by naming their special of the week "BrownChicken BrownCow Burrito"! Everyone in the band would like to thank all the venues that hosted our home state shows; Irish Pub on Washington Street,The Burrito Bar at Breeze Hill, Cantrell's Ultimate Rafting, Festivall, and Chestnut Ridge Memorial Park, thank all you ladies and gents for hosting. Our 2013 schedule is already filling in and taking shape and that's when we will be looking forward to seeing y'all in Appalachia again. This summer 2012 has been split up into four segments for the BrownChicken folks.
We are currently in the second leg of the summer. The next three weeks is dedicated to touching base and stiring the soup in Ohio, Colorado, Utah, and Oregon. BCBCSB performed this past weekend in Columbus, OH. This was a memorable show. We are always amazed at the people we have met in Maui and how they show up everywhere to our shows. We had a 100 folks make it to the show this past Monday night at the Woodland's Tavern. They stuck with us all the way and rocked out for a 90 min set! Thanks Buckeye's, thanks Maui, and thank you Paul Painter at the Woodland's Tavern! Happy Birthday by the way Paul. The train' is rolling now as I write these words. We are moving West and will perform two shows in Colorado, four shows in Utah, and then are off to Oregon. The Band is happy to announce that we have been asked to play all three nights at Oregon Country Fair including closing the Blue Moon Stage Sunday evening with Elephant Revival, and The Shook Twins. We are stoked and calling the set Twin Chicken Revival! For those of you that are not familiar with Oregon Country Fair... you have to check it out. Truly epic festival in the heart of Oregon. Take a peak at what these folks have cookin' it's pretty awesome. www.oregoncountryfair.org
The middle leg of the summer will be dedicated to developing new territory and exploring new parts of the world for this tribe. Yes, the BrownChicken Train is going to hop the tracks and roll into ALASKA! We have named our 15 day, six show tour "Alaska Somethin' Summer Tour 2012" www.brownchickentrain.com/tour.htm and let your friends and family in Alaska know that the BrownChciken BrownCow StringBand is coming to town. West Virginia to New Mexico and Back Again!!
Hey Y'all!! Kat Fountain here, bringing you some tales from the road. We headed out from West Virginia about five weeks ago with our brand new van thanks to all of the Kickstarter donations. Let me tell you, that ride is P-I-M-P. We're talking AC, tinted windows, enough seating for the whole band & co. and just an overall jubilance that we can't even begin to describe.
